Samsung Unveils Galaxy Muse MP3 Player

Samsung just unveiled its highly anticipated “Galaxy Muse” MP3 player, a pebble-shaped device having smartphone sync capability. As per the official announcement form the company, the physical features and aesthetics of this device make it perfect for use along with the Galaxy line of smartphones. These features include the rounded design and the matching color schemes of Pebble Blue and Marble White.

The announcement regarding the new MP3 player was made by the chief product officer at Samsung Mobile, Kevin Packingham, who said that Galaxy Muse would expand the Samsung Galaxy product portfolio to include a compact and lightweight music player. This music player would offer music on-the-go and would also share songs directly from the Galaxy smartphones. He said that Galaxy Muse is among the latest Samsung products delivered for content consumption “across the entire spectrum of consumer electronics.”

Galaxy Muse has the ability of playing most of the popular audio formats including MP3, WMA, FLAC, OCG etc. It would work with devices running Android 3.0 or higher and is equipped with the ability of playing music continuously up to six hours. The connection of the MP3 player with the smartphones is done through a 3.5 mm USB adapter. Other technical specifications of the device include internal storage capacity of 4GB, physical dimensions of 1.7×1.25×0.5 inches, weight of 13.8 grams and LED status indicator.

To sync Galaxy Music to their smartphones, users would have to install ‘Muse Sync app’ on their phones. At present, this app is only available for latest high end Samsung Galaxy devices, that is, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note 2. Galaxy Muse is Samsung’s answer to Apple’s iPod Shuffle music and sales during the holiday season would decide the popularity of both devices.
